The Complete Swiss CRM Partner Guide 2026

If you are a Swiss fiduciary, IT consultant or management consultant looking to build recurring commission income from CRM recommendations in 2026, here is the complete guide: from market structure to legal framework to the concrete onboarding path. Over 5'000 words of substance — by practitioners for practitioners.

This pillar article links all relevant tools (calculator, quiz, comparison hub, tier system) and all deep-dive articles on subtopics. Use it as an entry point or as a reference.

1. Market reality: Why 2026 is the right year

1.1 The Swiss SME landscape

Switzerland has around 600'000 SMEs, of which approx. 90% have fewer than 10 employees. These companies together generate more than half of Swiss GDP. They are the economic substance of the country — and they face two structural challenges:

  1. The succession wave: 15.1% of Swiss SMEs will undergo transfer in the next 5 years — over 90'000 businesses. Degree of digitalization is a key value driver in succession (see KMU succession article).
  2. Compliance pressure: The revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) has been in force since 1 September 2023. In Q1 2026, the FDPIC issued substantial fines for the first time — compliance is no longer just window dressing.

Both factors increase demand for professional CRM systems with a clear hosting location and data-protection concept. Advisors positioned at this intersection — fiduciaries, IT consultants, management consultants — have a unique opportunity.

1.2 The global competition

Several CRM providers operate in the Swiss market with their own partner programs:

  • HubSpot (US): 20% commission for 12 months, from 15 July 2026 USD 400/month membership fee (waivable)
  • Pipedrive (EE/EU): 20% commission for 12 months, AWS Frankfurt hosting
  • Salesforce (US): reseller program, not a classic affiliate, high-priced enterprise track
  • Bexio (CH): no classic commission model, instead lead generation via fiduciary directory (>5'000 inquiries/month)
  • TecArt (DE/CH): 7.5% lifetime commission, no entry cost, revFADP compliance with a DPA

Detailed comparisons per provider can be found in the comparison hub and in the deep-dive articles:

1.3 Why 2026 specifically

Three convergence factors make 2026 a strategic entry point:

  1. Membership penalty: HubSpot introduces a USD 400/month membership fee — partners with small pipeline volume are squeezed. TecArt remains free.
  2. Compliance weight: revFADP fines create real sales arguments for Swiss-native hosting. A consulting conversation in 2026 has more substance than in 2024.
  3. Succession peak: 2026–2030 is the peak phase of the succession wave — and CRM modernization increases sale value by 15–30%.

2. The economics: What you actually earn

2.1 The two models

In the CRM affiliate market there are two basic models:

Model A — Short, high commission: 20% on monthly revenue, but only 12 months. That's HubSpot, Pipedrive and the global standard. Sounds attractive, but is limited by the hard time cap.

Model B — Lifetime commission: 7.5% on monthly revenue, with no time limit. As long as the client pays, the commission flows. That's the TecArt model.

2.2 The critical variable: client lifespan

The mathematical question is: At what client lifetime does the calculation tip from Model A to Model B?

The equation is simple: 0.20 × 12 = 0.075 × X → X ≈ 32 months.

That means: once the average client lifetime exceeds 32 months, Model B (7.5% lifetime) is economically superior. With the typical 5–7 year retention expectation for CRM software, the advantage is substantial.

2.3 Concrete 5-year calculation

Assumption: 10 clients × CHF 200 MRR = CHF 2'000 total MRR.

| Model | 5-year earnings | Difference | |-------|------------------|------------| | HubSpot / Pipedrive (20% × 12 mo.) | CHF 4'800 | Baseline | | TecArt 7.5% lifetime | CHF 9'000 | +87% |

With 7 years lifetime (typical for established CRM implementations):

| Model | 7-year earnings | Difference | |-------|------------------|------------| | HubSpot / Pipedrive | CHF 4'800 | Baseline | | TecArt 7.5% lifetime | CHF 12'600 | +163% |

The full comparison is available on the TecArt vs. HubSpot detail page or with your own assumptions in the commission calculator.

2.4 Tier system: From entry to elite

TecArt differentiates three tiers with graduated commission rates:

| Tier | Active clients | Commission | |------|----------------|------------| | Entry | 1–4 | 5 % | | Premium | 5–14 | 6.5 % | | Elite | 15+ | 7.5 % |

Quarterly bonus: From 3 conversions per quarter +0.5% on all clients in that quarter.

That means: 12 clients at CHF 200 MRR in the Premium tier results over 5 years in CHF 9'360 instead of CHF 7'200 (Entry). Details at /partner/tier-system.

3. Legal basis: CO Art. 412 and revFADP

3.1 Broker/agent contract under CO Art. 412 ff.

CRM affiliate agreements are legally governed by the broker/agent contract of the Swiss Code of Obligations:

"Contract by which someone undertakes to prove opportunities for contractual conclusions to another or to mediate contractual conclusions in return for compensation" (CO 412 para. 1).

In the CRM context this means: you notify a provider (TecArt) of business opportunities (client recommendations) and receive a commission for it. Broker law therefore applies.

Commission entitlement arises upon conclusion of the main contract between TecArt and your client (CO 413). The provider must be able to demonstrate that the recommendation came from you — for this there are UTM parameters, affiliate cookies and manual client declarations.

3.2 "Lifetime commission" — fix contractually

The legal interpretation of CO 413 would be: one-off commission at contract conclusion. Anyone who promises or receives "lifetime" must document this clearly in writing. Seven clauses should be mandatory in the affiliate agreement:

  1. Commission rate and calculation basis (e.g. "7.5% on net MRR")
  2. Duration of the commission (lifetime vs. X months)
  3. Payout modalities (frequency, minimum amount)
  4. Tracking and attribution (UTM parameters, affiliate cookie lifetime)
  5. Termination and notice periods
  6. Data protection compliance (revFADP, GDPR)
  7. Jurisdiction and applicable law (Switzerland, CO)

For further detail: Affiliate marketing legal (CO Art. 412).

3.3 Taxes and social insurance

Commissions are self-employment income under DBG Art. 18. The following obligations arise:

  • Federal direct tax (DBS): up to 11.5% progressive
  • Cantonal and municipal tax: highly variable (ZG ~8% vs. GE ~23%)
  • AHV/IV/EO: approx. 9.75–10% on net income
  • VAT obligation: from CHF 100'000 annual turnover, rate 8.1%
  • Accounting obligation: full bookkeeping from CHF 500'000 turnover (CO 957)

If you are already VAT-liable as a fiduciary, you must also invoice affiliate commissions on a VAT-inclusive basis. Details: Commission taxation for self-employed.

3.4 revFADP compliance when recommending

When you as an advisor recommend CRM software, you are not directly responsible for its data protection compliance — that responsibility lies with the provider and the client. However: incorrect advice can constitute a breach of the duty of care under CO 398.

For every recommendation you should check the following points:

  • Data residency of the provider (Switzerland / EU / USA?)
  • DPA template available and up to date?
  • Sub-processor list transparent?
  • For sensitive data types: data protection impact assessment recommended?

Hosting in Germany (EU) avoids data transfers to the United States. US cloud providers (Salesforce, HubSpot default) require a Transfer Impact Assessment and additional contractual arrangements.

3.5 Disclosure to clients

The transparency obligation arises from CO 400 (duty of loyalty and care of the mandatary), from professional rules (TreuhandSuisse, ICT professions Switzerland) and from UWG Art. 3 (fairness in commercial transactions). Practically, a written note in the advisory report is sufficient:

"We receive a commission from [provider] for contract conclusions. This fact did not influence our recommendation."

This disclosure is not optional — it is part of the fairness of your advisory mandate.

4. Target groups: Who benefits concretely

4.1 Fiduciaries (70% of the market)

Swiss fiduciaries are the most trusted advisors of SMEs. 70–80% of SMEs follow their recommendations for software decisions. That is a unique market position.

Why CRM recommendations work for fiduciaries:

  • You see the pain points (chaotic Excel lists, lost inquiries, missing pipelines) at every client
  • You have access to financial data — the ideal precondition for ROI-related CRM recommendations
  • Better client data quality improves your own bookkeeping work

Further: Why fiduciaries should recommend CRM.

4.2 IT consultants

IT consultants are only 40–60% of the day billable. Non-billable time must be actively monetized — and affiliate commissions build passive recurring income without adding hours.

Why CRM recommendations are ideal for IT consultants:

  • They are already on the tech mandate
  • They can accompany onboarding (additional consulting mandate alongside the commission)
  • Suite recommendations (CRM + accounting integration + marketing automation) increase consulting depth and client retention

20 SME clients × CHF 250 MRR × 7.5% = CHF 375 recurring income per month without extra work. Further: IT consultants as CRM recommenders.

4.3 Management consultants

Management consultants raise CRM in 80–90% of their projects — often without commission participation. That’s value left on the table.

A pure recommendation costs 2 hours per client; the commission runs over the entire client lifetime. Consultants keep their consulting fee separately — the commission is additive income, not a substitute.

Compliance duty: written disclosure in the advisory report (CO Art. 400).

Further: Management consultants as CRM multipliers.

5. Industry specifics: CRM in 8 Swiss SME sectors

5.1 Law firms

Strict requirements from BGFA and cantonal bar regulations: client file, conflict checks, fee tracking, BGFA conformity. Standard CRM is not sufficient — law-specific modules are mandatory. Hosting location, DPA and access controls must be assessed case by case under Criminal Code Art. 321. Details: CRM for law firms.

5.2 Fiduciary and accounting

CRM complements typical accounting suites (Bexio, Abacus, SAP Business One). Value-add mainly in client-related sales organization and systematic referral tracking.

5.3 IT and software houses

CRM as lead and customer management; integration with ticket systems (Jira, Zendesk) and code repositories (Gitea). API-first architecture is standard expectation.

5.4 Architecture and construction

Project-driven rather than sales-driven. CRM with project module, resource planning and construction-phase tracking. The hosting location must be assessed because of sensitive construction data (authority submissions, owner data).

5.5 Healthcare / practices

Sensitive patient data — a data protection impact assessment is mandatory. The hosting location must be assessed. CRM use is primarily in practice administration, not in patient records.

5.6 Industry and trades

Combination of CRM and ERP/inventory management. Sales pipeline plus order processing plus supply chain tracking. Often hybrid solutions with ERP as main system and CRM as add-on.

5.7 Retail

Omnichannel requirements: online shop + in-store POS + newsletter + service. CRM as central customer hub. Loyalty programs and coupon tracking as standard features.

5.8 Hospitality

Reservations, loyalty, marketing automation for newsletters and promotions. Often SaaS stack with a CRM component. Mobile-first due to staff on the move.

All 8 sector detail pages: /branchen.

6. Location specifics: 8 Swiss canton hubs

CRM recommendations have local flavor. The location pages provide per canton:

  • Market characteristics of the region
  • Top industry clusters
  • Recommendation stories from practice
  • Canton-specific tax information (gross commission → net calculation)

8 locations covered: Zurich, Bern, Basel, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Lausanne, Geneva, Lugano.

Top tariff range for tax calculation of self-employed earners:

| Canton | Marginal rate | |--------|---------------| | Zug | ~8.2 % | | Schwyz | ~9.4 % | | Lucerne | ~11.8 % | | Zurich | ~21.0 % | | Geneva | ~23.1 % |

Concretely: CHF 1'800 gross commission in Zug = CHF 1'652 net; in Geneva = CHF 1'385 net. Residence optimization can pay off — but only with an actual change of residence (tax avoidance is strictly scrutinized).

7. Onboarding: From decision to first commission

7.1 Step 1: Suitability check (5 minutes)

Before you sign up, check via the qualification quiz whether your client constellation fits TecArt. The quiz measures:

  • Client profile (B2B vs. B2C, SME size, industry mix)
  • Consulting depth (purely financial vs. sales-oriented)
  • Compliance needs (data residency, sector-specific rules)

Quiz score ≥ 70 = clearly suitable. Score 40–69 = borderline, initial consultation recommended. Score < 40 = likely not suitable, honest answer recommended.

7.2 Step 2: ROI estimate with calculator (3 minutes)

The commission calculator is embedded on the homepage. You enter:

  • Number of realistically recommendable clients
  • Average MRR per client (CHF)

Output: 12-month commission, 60-month commission, tier classification, cumulative earnings incl. quarterly bonus. Storable as a personalized PDF report.

7.3 Step 3: Initial consultation (30 minutes)

Request an initial consultation by email. Content:

  • Client profile review
  • Onboarding path incl. marketing pack and tracking setup
  • Concrete commission expectations over 12/24/60 months
  • Contract walk-through (CO-compliant)

No sales pressure. If the constellation does not fit, we say so openly.

7.4 Step 4: Contract signing + tracking setup

After contract signing you receive:

  • Personal affiliate ID
  • UTM generator tool (in the dashboard)
  • Marketing pack (logos, badges, email signature, social banners)
  • Onboarding PDF with the first 30 days
  • Access to the partner dashboard

Marketing pack download: /marketing-pack.

7.5 Step 5: First recommendation

Recommend only when the tool really fits. Clients without a sales problem do not get a TecArt recommendation. That protects your credibility — and leads to a sustainably high conversion rate.

First conversion typically after 4–8 weeks. First commission into your account: after the client contract conclusion + 30 days payout delay.

7.6 Step 6: Scale to the Premium tier

Premium tier starts from the 5th active client. Typical path:

  • Month 1–6: 1–2 clients (Entry tier, 5%)
  • Month 6–18: 5–8 clients (Premium tier, 6.5%)
  • Month 18+: 15+ clients (Elite tier, 7.5%)

Quarterly bonus activatable from 3 conversions per quarter — usually from month 9.

8. Bootcamp: 7 days structured learning

If you want to understand the market structurally, sign up for the 7-day CRM Bootcamp. Seven focused emails over 14 days:

  1. Day 0: Welcome + promise
  2. Day 1: Lifetime math (87% advantage)
  3. Day 3: DSG/revFADP compliance as a sales argument
  4. Day 5: CO Art. 412 — the contractual basis
  5. Day 7: Tier system (path to advancement)
  6. Day 10: Fiduciary story
  7. Day 14: Initial consultation CTA

Register via the whitepaper page — the bootcamp is triggered as a drip sequence.

9. Tools at a glance

All partner-relevant tools at a glance:

10. Frequent objections — and honest answers

10.1 "I don't have time for additional advisory topics"

A pure recommendation costs 2 hours per client: 30 min initial meeting with the client, 30 min arranging a demo, 60 min contract support. After that the commission runs passively. If that doesn't fit your calendar, this affiliate model isn't for you.

10.2 "7.5% is less than the 20% HubSpot pays"

Correct — in the short term. But 20% × 12 months caps the commission. 7.5% lifetime scales linearly with client lifetime. With the typical 5–7 year CRM retention it's economically superior (see section 2).

10.3 "What if TecArt discontinues the program?"

Contractually recorded: existing clients will continue to be commissioned until the end of the original client lifetime. If the program is discontinued, a 12-month transition period applies for new recommendations.

10.4 "Clients want Salesforce, not TecArt"

For multinational corporations or AppExchange-specialized use cases: yes, Salesforce fits. For Swiss SMEs up to 250 employees: TecArt is 60–70% cheaper and deployable in 1–4 weeks. Recommend what fits the client.

10.5 "Payments bypass my accounting"

Commissions are self-employment income (DBG Art. 18). You declare them in your tax return like any other fee — a separate revenue account in accounting is recommended. VAT obligation from CHF 100'000 annual turnover.

10.6 "What if my client is dissatisfied?"

TecArt offers a 30-day trial and comprehensive onboarding. Responsibilities and liability depend on the actual agreements and applicable law; assess the client's contractual relationship with TecArt separately.

10.7 "I don't want US-cloud data of my clients"

Exactly why you recommend TecArt: hosting in Germany (EU) instead of a US cloud.

11. Outlook: What 2026–2028 brings

11.1 AI-driven CRM features

CRM providers are progressively integrating AI components: lead scoring, automatic email drafts, conversation intelligence. TecArt follows this path with Mautic integration and MCP-based workflows. This matters for clients expecting efficiency gains — and differentiates TecArt from rigid Swiss accounting suites.

11.2 Swiss compliance tightening

The FDPIC has tightened its practice. Further prominent fines are expected in 2027, especially in the area of sub-processor transparency and lead-scoring DPIAs. Advisors who master the compliance argument in 2026 will have a market advantage in 2028.

11.3 Succession wave peak

The succession wave peaks 2026–2030. CRM modernization becomes a standard value driver in transfers. Advisory mandates "digitalization before transfer" will double — and CRM recommendations are central to this wave.

11.4 Consolidation in B2B SaaS affiliate

Uncertainty around HubSpot's membership fee, Pipedrive's growing competition and Bexio's lead-gen model creates consolidation pressure. Providers with clear, fair programs (the TecArt model) will gain market share from complex tier-stack models.

12. Recommendation: How to start today

A concrete 5-step path:

  1. Today: complete the qualification quiz — 5 minutes
  2. Today: test the commission calculator with your own client numbers — 3 minutes
  3. This week: request an initial consultation — 30-minute appointment in 1–2 weeks
  4. If matched: sign the contract, download the marketing pack, set up tracking — 2 hours
  5. First recommendation in 30 days: identify 3–5 clients with clear CRM need and make the recommendation

If now is not the right time: subscribe to the newsletter (footer form) and receive updates every 2–4 weeks.
